Conjunctions for connecting main clauses

In this blog entry, I will describe conjunctions used for connecting the main clauses in Danish. 

og = and

• Jeg hedder Sarah, og jeg kommer fra Danmark = I am called Sarah and I come from Denmark

men = but

• Jeg vil gerne drikke kaffe men jeg har travlt = I would like to drink coffee but I am busy 

eller = or

• Vil du have kaffe eller sodavand? Would you like to have coffee or soda?

så = so

• Jeg smutter mandler, så du kan koge grøden = I will blanch the almonds so you can boil the porridge
